The monastery of Zen Buddhist Statue of the Great Buddha

Mosteiro Zen Morro da Vargem, which was founded in 1974 by the Ryotan Tokuda, in Ibiraçu (ES), it is the first zen buddhist monastery in Latin America.

Located at 350 meters, has 150 hectares, of which 140 aimed at the preservation of the Atlantic Forest. It follows in the tradition of Soto Zen, with a focus on training in monastic practices of the laity, the arts, and environmental education. 

At the entrance, it stands out the statue of the Great Buddha in Ibiraçuwith a 32-meter high, which is considered the greatest sculpture of the Buddha in the West. Since 1983, it is the father that is How it Daiju Bitti.
