The mountainous topography and the rich hydrography of Santa Maria de Jetibá provide true natural spectacles, with numerous waterfalls spread throughout the municipality.

Reviving the native art of their ancestors was the goal that gave rise, in the 1960s, to the first folkloric dance group in Santa Maria de Jetibá. From the 1980s onward, numerous other groups emerged, many formed by school youth. Today, the local folkloric dance groups bring together everyone from children to adults, all dedicated to preserving and valuing Pomeranian culture. Performances can be enjoyed at various traditional municipal festivities and, especially, at the Dance Festival held in September, when all local groups gather along with participants from other regions.

The Trombonists have been part of Santa Maria de Jetibá’s history since its early days. The first trombone group in the municipality was formed with the arrival of the first pastor to the then newly established Lutheran parish of Santa Maria, Heinrich Wrede, in 1904. Today, there are 25 active groups, with approximately 700 trombonists. Their performances can be enjoyed during Sunday services or at festive events, with prior scheduling with the groups.

The concertina is the instrument that most touches the hearts and souls of the Pomeranian people. Present for centuries, it accompanies all festivals, community activities, gatherings, weddings, forrós, and celebrations in the communities. The players, mostly self-taught, keep this musical tradition alive. Every Friday, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., it is possible to watch concertina performances at the Senior Center, next to the Pomeranian Museum, where the music captivates and everyone joins in the dance.

The Pomeranian language is the main link of integration among Pomeranian descendants and the most prominent cultural expression of the municipality. Present in the community’s everyday conversations, it keeps local traditions and identity alive. Officially recognized in the municipality on June 4, 2009, through Bill No. 031/2009, Pomeranian belongs to the Western Germanic language family, in the Low Saxon/East Low German subfamily. Today, those who wish to learn the language can access dictionaries available at the Casa Típica and mobile apps, such as “Learn Pomeranian,” which make studying and practicing the language easier.

The Santa Maria de Jetibá Municipal Market operates every Friday, from 5:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., offering fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as homemade and agro-industrial products. It is located next to the City Hall, in a building designated for the market. The Municipal Market is a great option for those seeking fresh, high-quality products directly from the producers, while also supporting local agriculture.

Praça da Galinha é um ponto turístico curioso e cheio de significado em Santa Maria de Jetibá. Nela está o famoso Monumento da Galinha, símbolo da cidade que se orgulha de ser o maior produtor de ovos do Brasil. Além disso, o município se destaca como o maior produtor de hortigranjeiros do Espírito Santo, ocupando posição de destaque nacional com sua avicultura, reconhecida como o 1° polo de produção do país. The Santa Maria de Jetibá City Hall operates in a half-timbered building painted in the blue and white colors of the municipal flag, attracting visitors and becoming one of the tourists’ favorite photo spots.

The municipality’s first square is a public space and a symbol of citizenship,
intended for leisure, gatherings, and small community celebrations. The Central Square of Santa
Maria de Jetibá is welcoming for the whole family, with a large area for children to run and
play, as well as a fun playground. The place also features a stage for
performances on festive occasions, making it a great space for hosting events and attractions
cultural activities.

Located in the city center, the square is one of the most visited spots in Santa Maria de Jetibá, known as the most Pomeranian city in Brazil. The area features attractions such as the famous "I ❤️ SMJ" sign and the charming Artisan's House, where you can find typical products and local handicrafts. Right next to it is Frederico Grulke Avenue, the main commercial street and a reference point for both locals and visitors. A must-see destination on your itinerary!

Historical revival in São João do Garrafão. On December 20, 2024, the reconstructed Dutch Immigration House and “Isaach Lauvers” Museum will be inaugurated—a space that preserves and values the history, culture, and traditions that are part of our identity.

It refers to the architectural style found in several buildings in the city, especially the City Hall and some residences, characterized by exposed wooden structures and sloped roofs. This style is a legacy of Pomeranian and German colonization in the region, and the city is known as the “most Pomeranian city in Espírito Santo” due to the strong influence of this culture.

Inaugurated in 2009 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Pomeranian immigration in Espírito Santo, the monument is a symbol of the strength and tradition of this culture. Representing a typical Pomeranian family, it stands out in the charming Pomeranian Immigrant Square, one of the city’s main landmarks and a must-visit for those who want to get close to the history and roots of the region.

Inaugurated in 1962, the plant was responsible for generating electricity and created a 22 km-long lake. From the ES-355 highway, it is possible to view much of the lake, whose shores are lined with remnants of the Atlantic Forest, offering a beautiful and well-preserved landscape.

The museum is housed in a building with typical Pomeranian architectural features, dating back to the early 1930s, which previously accommodated the Fruit Cultivation Station. Its collection preserves and tells the history of the Pomeranian people, keeping alive the

Construída em 1904 pela família Zietlow, na localidade de Ilha Berger, esta casa preserva até hoje suas madeiras, janelas e portas originais. Em 2019, foi inaugurada na Praça Principal, passando a abrigar a Casa do Artesão, onde são comercializados produtos da agroindústria local e artesanatos da região. Um belo exemplar da arquitetura pomerana, o local é perfeito para registrar fotos e adquirir uma lembrança especial de Santa Maria de Jetibá. Além disso, funciona também como ponto de informações turísticas, acolhendo visitantes e valorizando a cultura pomerana do município.
