Devotion to the holy see began in 1937, at the behest of the Dom Luiz, Scortegagna, who laid the foundation stone of the temple in 1951. The image that came to the town in 1948, and the parish was created on December 8, 1953 by Jos\u00e9 Gon\u00e7alves. The first mass was celebrated on the 31st of December, 1955.
